Consulting/Contract Services

I am available for short-term consulting/contract work, speaking engagements, and professional development sessions. My areas of expertise include:

  • Data analysis
  • School turnaround
  • Urban education
  • School leadership
  • Organizational change
  • Helping students prepare for, apply to, and succeed in college

I previously have served as a consultant or contractor for the following organizations:

New Leaders for New Schools – wrote case studies about schools' best practices for an online principal training module

DonorsChoose.org – analyzed student achievement and teacher retention data from districts that received funding from DonorsChoose.org, and wrote reports detailing findings and recommendations

The University of Virginia’s Partnership for Leaders in Education – conducted 3-day instructional reviews of school districts in IN, DE, and NM with a strategic support team, and wrote reports that district leaders used to create/modify their strategic plans

The Michael Cohen Group – conducted fieldwork in Chicago to determine the efficacy of a program (from the Ready to Learn Partnership) on the literacy acquisition of 2nd and 3rd grade students

The University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education – evaluated technology-focused professional development activities for teachers in northern Virginia

In these roles I was required to integrate myself seamlessly into existing teams of people, quickly scale up my background knowledge on various topics/projects, write succinct and persuasive reports and case studies, and provide deliverables on tight timelines.

Please contact me at michael.salmonowicz@gmail.com if you would like to utilize my services. My hourly/daily rate varies based on the project. I am happy to provide samples of my work and references who can speak about my work.
